therapeutic bodywork for radiant well-being

client-centered

this is all about YOU. your health. your wellness. your mobility. your relief. your ease. your luminescent being. before each massage we will consider your goals and intentions for that session. life's hopes and dreams welcome!

each session is customized, drawing on a range of techniques... myofascial release, cranial sacral therapy, and deep tissue/trigger point therapy (more info below re: myofascial, cranial, and pregnancy massage). if your body and mind are loving one modality more than another... we use more of that!

our treatment sessions take place in a safe, non-judgmental and caring environment.

during your session your body will be melting away restrictions. letting go of holdings. creating new pathways. coming to a place of quiet. a state of deeper knowing, greater opening, and higher functionality.

our work becomes a conversation, your body and mind will share its wisdom, my hands and mind will listen attentively, compassionately. my hands are really good listeners! together we will guide and support you as we connect with, celebrate, and restore you to your radiant, best self.

myofascial release therapy

John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach® is an effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle, sustained pressure into the fascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.  fascia, also known as connective tissue, is the interconnected matrix or “webbing” that surrounds and interpenetrates all aspects of the body--nerves, muscles, blood vessels, bones, down to the cellular level. in its optimal state, fascia is soft and gel-like, fluid-filled, gently supporting and nurturing all of our body's structures.

physical or emotional trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create myofascial restrictions or fascial hardening that can produce crushing tensile pressures on pain sensitive structures.  the fascia's interconnectedness is why a restriction in one area of the body can pull and cause symptoms in a different area. mfr therapy looks to find and release those restrictions or holding patterns in the fascial web to allow the body to soften, open, and return to its optimal, natural fluid state.

in session:  fascial releases start to occur only after 3-5 minutes of sustained, gentle pressure; it is a quiet, slow work that lends itself to listening deeply to your self and body.  no lotion is used with this approach and you may choose to wear underwear/shorts (and bra) as the therapy involves uninhibited moving and stretching of the body.

a gentle, hands-on, non-invasive method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. it addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum as well as the nervous system. one goal is to release compression and blockages, thus alleviating stress and pain. effective with headaches, chronic pain, disorders, dysfunction, and trauma. a full cranial session takes place fully clothed. upledger trained.
